For five years (2003-2007) Scott White served as chair of the local 46th District Democrats, where he led the organization through a period of tremendous growth, modernization and increased grassroots activism. In recognition of his leadership, he was honored as “Chair of the Year” by the Washington State Democrats and as “Democrat of the Year” by the King County Democrats. Scott was also past Co-chair of the King County Democratic Legislative Action Committee, where as a Direct Action Organizer he led hundreds of grassroots Democrats to lobby for progressive legislation in Olympia!
Scott White died of Sudden Cardiac Arrest on October 21, 2011. The progressive community in Washington lost a champion, and Progress for Washington PAC works to continue Scott's legacy of community and electoral activism in search of a better future.
